A.R.T. has created what is called the “ART Loop”. This “loop” is a series of tracks that run roughly from Jacksonville, FL west to Los Angeles, CA , then north to Seattle, WA, then east to Chicago, IL, New York, NY and Washington, DC . Then southward to Jacksonville, FL. A.R.T.’s main headquarters is in Jacksonville, FL with main branches in Los Angeles, CA, Seattle, WA, Chicago, IL, and New York, NY. ART operates the following: Trains: The National: Trains that run the ART loop around the country that originates and terminates in Chicago, IL. The Nationals pass through New York, NY, Washington, DC, Jacksonville, FL, Dallas, TX, Los Angeles, CA, and Portland, OR. These trains stop only at major stations along the route. The American: Trains that run the ART loop around the country that originates and terminates in Chicago, IL. The Americans pass through New York, NY, Washington, DC, Jacksonville, FL, Dallas, TX, Los Angeles, CA, and Portland, OR. These trains stop at all stations along the route. The American Local: Trains that run throughout the ART system within the country that originate and terminate in different cities across the country. These trains stop at most stations along their respective routes. Buses: ART operates passenger buses between terminals and destinations that are not served by rail. Buses run on a schedule and are included in the total origination/destination price of passenger tickets. Taxis: ART operates taxis in larger cities from ART passenger stations. These taxis can only be used by ART ticket holders that have either an open ended ART ticket or are being taken to or from an ART station with a valid ART ticket where travel begins within six hours or travel ended within 2 hours. Agreements with municipalities prohibit regular taxi service to non-ART patrons. Passenger Fares: Actual fares are dictated by time and demand and are posted separately from this service document. Special assistance and accommodations for the handicapped are available on all trains at no additional cost. 1st Class fares include a Deluxe Bedroom with bathroom with shower, meals in the Diner Car and use of the Deluxe Lounge car. On most trains, two Deluxe Bedrooms can be made into one large, four person bedroom. There is one Family Room (for four persons) on each double decker sleeper car that can be reserved as available. 2nd Class fares include a Roomette with nearby bathroom, meals in the Diner Car and use of the Deluxe Lounge car. 3rd Class fares include seating in comfortable reclining coach seats, use of the Coach Lounge and “Pick-up Meal” service in the Diner or assigned car.
